Heading North

Last full day of our trip. Went North on the Barrier Highway taking in our vast, wide brown land. This part of the state hasn’t had any useful rainfall in such a long time, dust fills the air everywhere we go. No one talks of drought, yet. There is optimism that a good amount of rain will come in May. Today the clouds promised a downpour. It never came.
