Afternoon shadows

A busy day today with my daughter's 16th Birthday, but after lengthy snow showers earlier in the day, the sun finally came out for a while in the afternoon. So I made for the woods, to make sure me and the dog had a proper walk at least.

After that I made a chocolate cake that was a bit of a failure, but everybody ate it happily anyway!

The extra is a shot that one of my other daughters took today. One of our dog's favourite pastimes is to help us unwrap our presents and then tear the paper into little bits. All the excitement obviously tires her out!
