Idyllic land

A glorious morning walking at Prinsted. Rather than take our usual walk along the shore, we initially followed a public right of way on small tracks along the field edges to the back of the foreshore. The blossom of the blackthorn towered above us on both sides and beyond that the blue sky. The birds were in full song. It felt like an idyllic land of childhood stories.

Eventually we emerged on to the foreshore where Merlin had great fun paddling and trying to eat the seaweed. One of the local seafood restaurants has opened a small takeaway drinks and snacks outlet near the yacht basin, so we wandered along so Merlin could quench his thirst on the water they had kindly put out for this purpose.

I’ve spent the afternoon repotting my tomatoes and soon it will be time to walk Merlin again. I think I saw a white throat singing in the garden this morning - I need to check the song.

Hope your day has had something special in it. Best wishes.
