The grey´haired man sitting in the centre between the headmaster with glasses and his wife, was the founder of the school, Mr Dix. In 1938, he started it at Bognor Regis, then moved to Dartmoor in 1940 due to war risks and then on All Hallows' Day 1945 he signed the contract to buy the property at East Cranmore.
