A day for different things
Today was a day for doing different things.
Anne started the day by making an attachment for this quilt that was given her as a leaving gift, so that we can hang it on the wall. Then later she was working on some needlework with a friend.
Meanwhile I went off to the airfield intending to do a cross country flight with another friend, but the haze was so bad that rather than venture away we just explored the local area. Still good fun and useful experience, but not quite what we had planned.
Later we both had a visit from another friend whose job has just come to an end, and who is therefor starting to explore other openings.
Life can be like that sometimes - some things we plan do happen, but other things don't and the unexpected or unwanted events come along.
The quilt quoting from Psalm 56 puts it all into perspective when it says that God is the one we can trust - even if we are afraid, or surprised, or excited, or just experiencing the ordinary.
