“Auntie “ Mattie.

My friend Cath told me her Auntie Mattie was 92 a few days ago. At the moment Mattie is staying with her daughter not too far from us.

I had a dental appointment in Stirling this morning and on the way home decided to do a wee detour to wish Mattie a belated Happy Birthday.

I had not seen Mattie for years . In our younger days Cath and I visited her often and we had great times.

I rang the bell and Mattie answered the door..... she recognised me immediately! We had a great blether on the doorstep and wished we could hug one another. She looked fantastic and is really marvellous for 92.

As I left she said she would remember this forever!!

I do enjoy making someone’s day. :)

Wild , wet and windy all afternoon but nothing can diminish the happy morning I had.
