The press announcing Grand Metropolitan was "flying away" from its chicken restaurant chain it had bought in December 1988.

The MD Derek Wooler was an Englishman who I think had been in Germany for a very long time. He spoke perfect German and was very personable but one very rarely got to see him in the HQ where I had also been based, A bit of a recluse on the Penthouse floor.
