Recce walk
Joined Blipper Corinthian and husband R on a recce of a future walk for the Bus Pass Walkers this morning. Bus to Eldwick and then a walk up a quiet lane to walk through farmland. We heard a strange series of cries from a farmer across the fields. Then suddenly long lines of sheep appeared over the hill. Funny to watch as they all kept in a perfectly straight line. We walked down through fields with great long range views, and then past houses and through woodland seeing pheasants, and eventually coming out in the hamlet of Micklethwaite. Downhill to cross a stream and past stables with “co-ordinated” horses (extras) to then join the canal towpath back to Bingley. I love the names of some of the narrow boats and always make a collage of ones I haven’t seen before (extra). Still a chilly wind, but nice sunshine and a lovely walk. Some of the daffodils from the wreath on the church Easter cross had disappeared, and at first I thought it must be due to the strong winds. However, I noticed a lot of them strewn around the bus stop on our outward journey, so on the way back I collected them up and others behind the wall, and put them back on the wreath. I’m useless at flower arranging so they may look rather haphazard, but at least they are back where they belong!
