When Will It End?
Really sad news today that the d-i-l of one of my best friends in Brazil has died of Covid, she was 39, and it happened so fast. Rodrigo, her husband, is also ill, but not as badly so far. Deise was very keen on everyone taking all the precautions possible and now she's gone. It's shaken me a bit, and makes me feel a lot less positive that we might be getting over this terrible pandemic. The situation in Brazil is terrible, no ambulances, no places in intensive care, so many dying daily, over 4,000 and rising still.
We had our first meal out in ages, on the pavement at O Pátio, mainly to encourage our friends, H and I; we were the only customers, it's difficult to see how they'll cope, especially if Portugal goes back to shutting everything again (numbers have gone up slightly).
Mike has just come in, at almost midnight, from checking the burning he's been doing up on the top Land. It's now all done, thankfully.
Gratefuls:
- a good meal out
- two new Le Creuset mugs from Sam and Deb, yellow and orange, so cheerful
- good chat with my sister in Texas
