Looking For Colour....Again!

It was another grey and cold day! I was doing things at home and wasn’t motivated at all to go out for a walk. I forced myself though - I was feeling very cold this evening and just couldn’t warm up. So off I went for a loop around the park.

It was SO grey. But I found this colourful bush. I wasn’t sure what it was and I don’t remember ever seeing it before. Thankfully I have a plant identifier app on my phone so I soon discovered it is a Mohinia aquifolium. Also known as an Oregon grape or holly-leaved berberry. It eventually produces purple grape-like berries. Maybe I should get one for my garden. I could do with a splash of colour this time of year.
