Garscube Bridge
A glorious if Baltic cold day for a walk with Glasgow Ramblers around the Botanics, Maryhill Park (scene of Taggart murders) and the Garscube Estate – the blip is the ornate Garscube Bridge. Just south of the bridge we observed a ‘magnet fisher’. I had never heard of this, it’s where you use a strong line with a magnet at the end to search ferromagnetic objects – supermarket trolleys mostly I would have thought. If it help to clean up the river then it seems a very worthwhile thing to do, I assume you don’t throw them back in like you do with fish.
I’m almost tempted to use the shot of the subway as my main blip, so thrilling did it feel, a bit like riding the London underground as a child. The first time I have used it in over a year, and I had the carriage to myself. I came back by the number 3 bus with V which stops on Dumbarton road – a useful direct route for more trips to the West End.
I think will use the subway one for my extra.
