There once was an ugly ....

The pigeons nesting in the garden hedge have produced a squab.
I don't think I've ever seen a pigeon fledgling before so have been watching it sunbathing and being fed (extra)
I first noticed it a few days ago and thought that it would soon disappear, either fly off or down a cat! 
This morning it was back on it's favourite perch and I was able to get really close for this endearing portrait!!!
Whether it has fallen out of the nest and managed to survive so far or, whether this is typical of pigeon behaviour, I don't know but the parents are keeping up a vigil and feeding it noisily at regular intervals.

Finally caught up with all my back blips. Don't know where the time has gone this past week
