Let’s get the kettle on
In the world of heritage railways, fans of old diesel engines tend to refer slightly disparagingly to steam engines as ‘kettles’. Well, this is one kettle that I am hoping will be well and truly boiling up in five days time when the North Norfolk Railway once again opens to the public as lockdown restrictions are further lifted. I had seen a suggestion that there might be some driver familiarisation running today so went for a walk by the depot at Weybourne for a look. There didn’t appear to be any steam but there was an old diesel railcar running up and down; good to see at least something on the line.
