Today is a bit of a milestone in that I've just realised it is the first day I've done any DIY since starting blipfoto over 2 years ago. The project was simply to attach an Ikea trellis to the garden wall. It did involve going into the cellar and rooting out my rawplugs and big screws (not provided), but it was great to rediscover the joys of drilling eight two-inch deep holes in brickwork with my mega-hammer drill that can do each hole in two seconds flat. That trellis will stay up as long as the wall does, now. Perhaps this will now spur me on to tackle the other jobs that have been waiting in the last 2 years. I think installing the kitchen in Manchester is the top priority followed by....

Flick and I are experts on how DNA evidence has affected archaeological perceptions of the emergence of humanity as Ed is finishing off (finishing off = starting) his dissertation. It's due in on Wednesday. He will make it since he's now got 10,000 words after two weeks of marathon sessions. We will all be nervous wrecks by the end of it.
