Take one fully grown tree trunk- probably already struck by lightning or otherwise rendered neutral in the game of life.

Lay it down along a track at a place with an arresting view of some sort.

Chop into the bark about four inches. Slice along for about six feet - enough for two or three people to relax comfortably side by side. Chop into the bark (or upwards, if you prefer) so the piece you've sliced falls away and can be tossed into the undergrowth to make a home for some small things.

Repeat several times along the length of the trunk.

Sit.
