Only Two?

I spent a lovely morning in Heber Down Conservation Area today. I had been there earlier in the spring, and commented then that I had not heard or seen a single bird during my visit. Well, that has changed. There were lots of birds, and early in the morning at least, lots of birdsong. There are a variety of walking trails there; the one that I followed today went through the woods, along Lynde Creek and around Devil's Den pond where I expected to see more geese and ducks, but there were only two of each! I was in the park early enough to be alone most of the time, which is what I like, but I did meet some really nice dogs out walking their owners. One, my favourite, was a newly adopted potcake puppy from the Bahamas. It seems this was his first walk in the park and his new owner-with-camera was making sure she recorded it! Welcome to Canada, little potcake - I wish I had thought to take your photo! The ducks would have gladly given up their spot on today's blip entry to make room for you!
