LILAC BUD
In northern latitudes, Winter just seems to hang on forever...but when Spring arrives it comes with a rush. Things change very quickly and what was cold and white a short time ago now morphs into warm and green.
Tree buds (these are lilac and 4-5mm long), which were there all Winter long, start to swell with the onslaught of inner juices, the protective bud scales are shed and the leaves begin to swell. In short order, the plants go from survival mode to full blown production. And others higher up the food chain will respond to this productivity.
It's always been that way and it always will be...if mankind wakes up and starts to take care of this planet instead of destroying it.
