July 1985

My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,

I had to go in to work today. It was such a drag after just 4 days at home.

It is amazing, isn't it, how quickly you adjust to just a brief holiday? I felt properly RESENTFUL at having to leave the house this morning.

The boys didn't help. They could tell I was getting ready to go and were EXTRA CUTE to stop me. This isn't my imagination. They are well known for pulling this trick. Even Punky got in on it, rolling around on the bed and asking for cuddles.

He NEVER DOES THIS.

Still, at work Gromit was top value. She has gone NUTS buying photos now that we have been given permission. And she walked me through them. There was a LOT of:

OHHMYGOODDDDDD!!!
LOOKATTHELITTLEFACE!!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!

And that was just me. Ha ha. No, but really.

She also announced, "I've started keeping a list of DO NOT USE words. In case they are taboo, or... you know... 'vagina'."

And just this minute, she texted me a picture of a chicken.

It came in as I was watching an old episode of Top of the Pops on YouTube, from July 1985. It is surprising to me how little of this I remember. Although I do remember "Live is Life" by Austrian band Opus.

"Frankie" by Sister Sledge is number 1, in case you were wondering.
