Walking home
Another social day. We had a Zoom call with S's family in the morning. Then we set off for a late Easter Sunday lunch with S and T on their terrace; happily, the wind had dropped and it was a balmy spring day. We had a seasonal menu of wild asparagus tart, followed by a delicious slow-cooked lamb dish from Ottolenghi. And finally, the not so seasonal Christmas pudding S and T's children sent them before Christmas but which did not arrive till halfway through January. It was duly flambeed with rum.
A great afternoon of chat, very well lubricated with wine. We'd driven there with the express intention of walking home, which we duly did, and I'm sure the 4 km walk did us good. It took us an hour, so we arrived after the 7 pm curfew, oops. Exhausted, the rest of the evening is a bit of a blur followed by early to bed!
Extra: one of my many attempts to capture the way the low sun illuminates the vine shoots. I like the rather surreal look.
