Easter Sunday, my second birthday, and one day after my Grandad's 55th birthday.  The photos were taken in the garden of his house that was built as a "Home for Heroes" for veterans of the First World War (I wrote about my Grandad and his brothers going to War many years ago).  My Grandad, Sam, was a lorry driver from at least 1923 onwards.  My uncle, Gerald, on the left was only 13 at the time and grew up to become a Merchant Navy engineer.  Nanna, a skilled tailoress, didn't appear in the photos as she sadly died 2 months later.
