He thought today would be the best day to finally climb NCR4 bridle/horse trail so we could look out over the marsh before the trees leaf out. Well, it was quite a climb, but we did it. Our goal by summer's end is to be able to climb it easily and quickly. Ha-ha.
Along the way we saw two mothers and two daughters on horseback (I admitted I was jealous), a twice-stabbed lady beetle (chilocorus stigma), a re-routed and improved Sylvan Loop path, a new wooden semi-circle overlook deck facing north, a new wooden overlook deck (now crushed by a fallen tree) above Dinger's Marsh, dark-eyed Juncos, and cut-leaved toothwort (Cardamine concatenata). I found 3 downy woodpecker feathers.
Simple pleasures made it a great day. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend. Thanks for your visits. Each one is appreciated.
