Tadcaster Weir
We had a nice Easter Sunday walk this morning...from Newton Kyme via the back lanes and woods to Tadcaster, where we stopped for a takeaway coffee and cake. We sat down by the river to consume them - very pleasant. We then walked along the banks of the river Wharfe back to Newton Kyme. 6.3 miles overall, in about 2.75 hours..which included our refreshment stop. A lovely sunny day but a bit chilly in places when exposed to the wind!
The photo is of the weir at Tadcaster...I had my camera almost on the ground to get this view. It is a pity that you can’t (legally) get right down to the edge of the weir to ‘lose’ the metalwork and trees. I love the arc shape across the river and the curved slope of the fall.
I am thinking we might have a Chinese meal for tea tonight - we walked past the takeaway on our walk on Friday and said we should get one soon.
