Skateboard shavings

My son makes candle holders, small boxes and earrings from recycled skateboards.  The process is pretty labour intensive and starts with sanding and stripping off the weathered edges of the boards.  These are the shavings from the stripping process.  He then glues them together to make coloured blocks of wood that are then turned in the same way as any other piece of wood (I guess).

Easter Sunday.  Small gathering with my Mum (89) and Dad (90), along with my son, and a niece and nephew (and of course Ellie our dog).
