Common Enchantments

Saturday seeing

Today was a day of seeing.  Starting with the birds...I finally got a photo of the blue jay..I think it is Mrs. Jay.   Mrs. Bluebird is over at the wisteria.  She has a nest somewhere but we don't know where.  We see both Ma and Pa come to the feeder.  I did set out some meal worms for them. The dove was puffed up in the cold this morning. It looks like it is staring at me wondering what I did to make it be cold again! The woodpeckers apparently like the suet I have in the feeder.   The bigger one comes at least once a day.

Apparently all the rain we had caused the azaleas to be over the top in buds and blooms!   Thank goodness we had no frost the last two nights. The flowers are the most that they have been in a long time.    When I walked the dog I noticed that a yard down the road had their azaleas shaped uniformly for "landscaping" and there were hardly any flowers or buds on them.    Mine are so wild and the limbs are hanging with blooms!   Just goes to show that landscapers don't know everything about how to get flowers!!   Mother Nature knows best!

The thumbnail is coral honeysuckle.   I pulled this up out of the ditch by the road and stuck it in a pot.  It rooted! and then started climbing and is vining its way around the bridal wreath bush.  I still have it in the pot so trying to decide if I want to actually plant it in the ground or not.

The honesty is so pretty with its purple flowers and it is starting to make the little silver dollar leaves.  I have five different plants started in the yard now and one in a pot that comes back every year.   But they seem to bloom every other year instead of yearly.

I love my dandelion yard and today I had an 8 spotted forester moth to visit.  Don't destroy dandelions, please!

Have a happy Easter!
