How much is a morgen?
Two of my tiny Enli (1:160) friends thought to get an extra income. They went to a farmer and asked for some work. The farmer told them he had 8 "morgen" of land to be ploughed.
Niall and Angus immediately agreed with the generous pay he offered. 8 morgen, sort of 4 days work, in 2 days they would be ready.
It was not until they came to the acre and saw the sheer size that they realised that they had been silly. A morgen for a German farmer is denoted the acreage that could be furrowed in a morning's time by a man behind an ox or horse dragging a single bladed plough. A real man. Not a model train figure.
