Fire and Sunset!

We spent the first part of the day clearing up and organising the veranda at Betty's for visitors. An aquaintance of ours, Lina, has run a (mostly) vegetarian restaurant before and now sometimes does catering . She arrived with a bag of vegan food dishes for four people. She offered the deal online and got around 100 customers. I thought the food was very reasonably priced and when I found she delivered it to our house as well I was amazed. I hope she made some money!
Our first visitors arrived a little later. Lasse and Annika (+ Mika the dog) are staying in The Red House over Easter. Lasse helped me fix a windbreak at the end of the veranda because we are eating out here tomorrow and the forecast is for a stiff breeze.  Jan and Annika sat at our front door chatting about life, the universe and everything.
I must admit I am getting bored with Covid restrictions. It would have been natural to invite Lina in for a coffee, it would be so nice to sit indoors and chat with Lasse and Annika; instead we have to meet outside, and just now you could describe the season as cold spring. However, having put up with these recommendations for a year now and having avoided Covid all this time, it only seems sensible to keep going another month until we reach our place in the vaccination queue.
So, after a bit of a rest the four of us gathered on the veranda to test the windbreak, eat Jan's fresh bread and cheese, and my hot cross buns. A glass or two of wine was drunk too. We watched a chilly sunset and kept the fire burning for a while and after a couple of hours we retired to our much warmer houses.
