The Chinese House

The Chinese House was built sometime before 1738 for the garden at Stowe, Buckinghamshire; it is one of the earliest Chinese pavilions in Great Britain. Seeley's engraving of 1750 shows the House at Stowe, standing on stilts in an ornamental pond.

It is still there and standing proud as the winter protection has been removed.
