Good Friday
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
The day started with a hard frost, but it developed into a beautiful day, though remaining distinctly cool. Roger had an appointment this morning, but then this afternoon, we drove down to Ault Park, which is usually glorious this time of year with Spring flowers and blossom, but of course I was wondering how much they would have been affected by the frost. The cherry blossoms were fine, but most of the poor magnolias had been “burned” by the frost - it seems such a cruel trick of Mother Nature to give you these glorious blossoms, and then send a hard frost to kill them! However, there was still plenty of beauty and colour left, as you can see from my backdrop of daffodils. There is also a grove of cherry trees, a gift from the Japan America Society who planted 121 Somei Yoshino Trees in the grove at Ault Park in 2008.
