ETHER EGG
A fellow faculty member was into making Ukrainian Easter Eggs...very intricate designs and unbelievably beautiful. He sold them at craft fairs for big money. We were a close faculty and one day Don invited the rest of us to his basement for Egg College.
Don and his wife were experts...the rest of us had dyed a few Easter eggs various colors in the traditional manner. We had no idea what we were in for. It involves delicate tools to administer wax, immersion into specifically colored dyes, removal of wax, re-application of wax, more dying in other color(s). It gets very complicated and requires a lot more patience and a steadier hand than I had that night...maybe he shouldn't have supplied beer for us. Anyway, you can see my "creation." I call it an Ether Egg....more specifically a "Diethyl Ether Egg"....(you organic chemists out there will recognize it immediately).

In any case, Happy Easter to all my Blip friends everywhere.
Mike
