Life In Wales

A Good Friday!

Lockdown 3 - Day 89

We met Kate and Martin at 9.30am for a 'camp' breakfast at the top of Seaford Head (see my extras) where it was rather blustery and cold!  So after parking the cars, us girls had a wander to find a 'less' windy spot, the cars were moved and we used Bertie Bus as a shelter from the wind and set up our tables and chairs in between the two cars.  Martin had brought his camp kitchen and we had ours in Bertie and we cooked bacon butties and boiled the kettle for a hot chocolate and a coffee.

After breakfast we set off for a walk down to the Coastguard Cottages and then onto the beach at Hope Gap. This iconic view of the cottages with the Seven Sisters behind, is one of my favourites, and luckily I managed to capture it when the sun peeked behind the clouds. The tide was out so we walked down to where the river was flowing rapidly into the sea, and watched as a group of students took off their walking boots and waded through the water to the other side - not only would it have been very cold, but it would have been painful on the feet walking on the pebbles!

Back at the cars, we talked about future meet ups after we've moved and we very much look forward to Kate & Martin coming to visit us in Wales, as well as having some camping trips at half way points.  We said our farewells, and its hard to think that I may not see Kate again before we move, but if our date gets delayed, we'll try to fit in another walk.

Once home we took the boys out for a walk and then I''ve had a pretty lazy afternoon.   I felt quite tired so decided to go and sit in the Palace to have a Blip catch up, and I nodded off!    After a delicious dinner of duck breasts, potato gratin, stuffed mushrooms, carrots and cranberry sauce, followed strawberry tarts we had our usual Friday date night in the Palace.  It's definitely been a Good Friday with more memories made!

Happy Easter Weekend to you all!
