Good Friday Catkin Wren
Up early this morning creating elegant 'tit-bits' for my granddaughter's garden get-together with a few of her besties. I'm pleased to say they had a very happy time, even though they had to wrap themselves in rugs as it was quite chilly.
This wren was singing loudly from a willow. I choose to call these female trees goat willow and the male trees of the same species pussy willow. These female catkins will produce loads of fluffy seeds which float on the air in May.
Lovely Dover sole for us this evening with the first asparagus spears from the greenhouse.
