NZ licorice

Both of us are fond of licorice, and both of us are fond of chocolate, so when we found this combination whilst we were in New Zealand, it seemed ideal.  We tried them, and fell in love with them.

On returning to the UK, we weren't able to find them, and have been bulk buying on the internet an inferior version.  

So when I spotted these in the local farm shop, I just couldn't refuse to buy them.  At the time, I wasn't really aware that they were the identical ones to the ones we had eaten in NZ - they just looked the same, and I thought they were worth a "punt".  I don't wear my reading glasses in the shop.  It was only once I was home that W said he thought they were exactly the ones we had bought in NZ, and then we realised that they were "New Zealand's finest".  So rather a lot of food miles, I'm afraid.

We shall enjoy them as a treat.
