Lebanese Oak logs
We felled one of two Lebanese oaks in the garden some ten years ago. At the time I enquired if the wood was good for anything but the answer was no. No good for furniture, nor sculpting, nor veneer. The verdict was burn it. So we stored a load of it in this tiny brick shed to season them.
A friend of ours has kindly agreed to make a bunch of bird houses. He asked if we had any logs available and so we hope he may be able to turn some of these on his lathe to create some relatively naturalistic ones.
As it happens we ran out of our stock of fire wood this year so these would have been burnt next winter.
Very pleased a use may have been found for them.
