Crown of thorns

The blackthorn is astonishing this year.  It's been out for weeks but still more and more comes into flower.  So here's a sample (and aren't those thorns wicked-looking..)

I shot this on my one very brief foray outside today.  It's been lovely but I'm still not well and have finally had to admit to myself that when I fell over a tree root in Crab Wood last week I cracked a rib.  Silly old fool!

And on the subject of negatives, for no specified reason we've been turned down for the rescue dog.  I have absolutely no idea what that's about ;(

Never mind, tomorrow's another day and I'm sure a better one.
