Sit,stay...

A dull ,chilly start this morning but the sun eventually made an appearance this afternoon. Still not a heat wave though.
A load of compound fertilizer arrived in this morning. Had to use the contractor's Manitou to empty it as our tractor and pallet forks was otherwise engaged up the hill lifting roofs onto the lambing pens.
Not used to driving it ,and it's years since I sat my telehandler ticket,but got there in the end .
Had to fit a new water bowl in a shed as the cattle had wrecked one and had a minor flood.
The contractor in ploughing the last stubble field ready to sow with spring barley ,so decided to muck out all the cows tonight before it is all ploughed and I need to find another field to spread dung in. Had them all done by 8 pm ,sun was shining,no one to bother me,happy at my work ! Doesn't happen very often these days.
Think it might go to frost tonight. Roll on summer.
This pair came with me to check the calving cows tonight. Left them on the bike while I had a quiet walk through them as dogs ,cows and possibly new born calves are not a good combination. Dog walkers please take note !
