Pretending
Spent an enjoyable hour or so this morning drinking coffee and chatting with Jacqui in her garden. Sunny and unbelievably warm for the end of March. Fletch was delighted to see me - he's a sociable chap and has missed seeing people during lockdown. Once the initial excitement had worn off and he'd stopped barking, he lay in his bed for a while and pretended to snooze. Too hot in the sun to stay there for long though.
On the way home called in to the shop for some vanilla essence, but they'd run out. The vanilla paste is 'very good' said the assistant, and I'm sure it is. But at £16.80 for a small tube, er, no!
Another power cut with impeccable timing this evening - our electric oven had just reached the required temperature to cook our evening meal! Thankfully it only lasted 10 minutes, so not a big problem! The power company seems to be making a habit of dinner-time power cuts - this is the third, and hopefully the last, in recent weeks!
