Hina Matsuri [Doll's Day (Girls' Day)]

By chance, stopped by my nakodo's home on my walk home. They are becoming quite old. They warmly invited me in for coffee and cakes and a nice chat. In their tatami room, they had just finished setting up their Hina-matsuri arrangement. This is a very old and precious collection of hina dolls from Kobe that they have kept their whole lives. The picture doesn't do the arrangement justice. I only had a short lens with me and the room was small. A quaint custom (we have a small setup in our home as well).
