1940

The year this brandy was bottled.

We spent a hugely enjoyable evening as guests of Jacqui's Swedish neighbours Per and Lotte.

We were treated right royally to all manner of lovely drinks and food and spent a flying five hours laughing and joking about all sorts.

Per was professionally, and still is as a retired amatuer, somewhat of an expert in designing and blending all sorts of spirits-based concoctions, mostly Aquavit . But he has an amazing collection of brandies, including this one from 1940, which he insisted on opening in our honour.

And it was fabulous too. Quite the smoothest brandy I have ever tasted.
