Whitlingham: Snowdrop Heaven

SUPERSIZED SNOWDROPS

I knew exactly what I wanted to blip today, and took a short drive at lunchtime to Whitlingham Country Park. I feel blessed to have the grounds of County Hall, Bracondale wood, and Whitlingham to visit during my lunch breaks.
At this time of year an area of the woodland on the opposite side of the road to Whitlingham Broad is a mass of snowdrops, flowing up and over the hillocks there. At the edge of the road, surrounded by the woodland, is this stunning cottage. The snowdrop glades spill into the back garden, which at the end runs uphill. The view from their back windows right now must be breathtaking. I have cottage-envy BIG TIME!

Here's a gallery with a front view of the cottage and more of the snowdrops. It's almost as beautiful as Foxley's well known bluebell glades.

Tomorrow I'm off out on site - 2 schools in the Fens - and I know exactly what I want to blip there. It'll be a long day, a substantial drive, but I'm really looking forward to it for that one reason!
