Days before photoshop
Tonight I got home, made three portions of fish, chips and peas, jumped in the car and headed for Nan's house so we could have a nice tea together.
Since my grandad died 6 moths ago I have tried to spend more time with her but still not enough, I really need to go round more often as the little things really count and cheer her up no end.
Tonight was no exception, we talked weddings which prompted her to get her wedding album out. She is a bit of a hoarder like myself and had favours, place cards, cards to go in cake boxes, the lot. Even a letter from the caterers which detailed options for the wedding day menu.
So Todays blip is of course my Nan and Grandad (Pa as we called him) on their wedding day outside All Saints'Church, Sedgley on 9 June 1948. Obviously the photographs in those days were black and white so my nan had her favourite (this one) 'coloured in' I haven't a clue how they did it but I am sure it wasn't photoshop.
My nan found more old photos out including one of a young man. He was from Canada who asked her to go back there with him to live. She was very tempted but decided to go for Pa instead. From looks alone I think she made the right choice. The Canadian still wrote to Nan up until his death around five years ago , my nan must have been quite a catch! As Betty has always said "Whild by name but not by nature".
