A lovely warm sunny day here in southwest Scotland!

I spent the morning gardening and this afternoon my car was due its MOT so while it was at the garage, I went for my daily walk. A new area of exploration, around Locharbriggs, to the north of Dumfries and out to the village of Kirkton. A strange mix of the industrial (the derelict Gates building, the sandstone quarries) and the rural farms and fields. Sites of Roman camps as well, to the east of the Nith.

This small and very popular shop was near the end of my walk. I had a smile at the "everyday essentials", none of which we eat :-)

Today's walk: Locharbriggs to Kirkton and Carzield 6.13 miles
