Walking Home

Mrs M was on a birdwatching boat trip of six today, on the River Dart. I went with her to the Marina at Kingswear and walked home. Glorious weather and scenery. What a day. The walk takes you along the Dart next to the steam railway track, then up through Long Wood. For an hour I saw no one apart from two people with ten greyhounds. Thankfully they were on some sort of complicated leads. After 4.5 miles walking through lovely countryside I arrived at Greenway, Agatha Christie’s holiday home, National Trust owned and open for garden visits and takeaway drinks. Almost had it to myself. From there I was on more familiar territory walking across to Galmpton, and then the coast path to Paignton.
I know we are not there yet but I could feel a great weight starting to lift from my shoulders. Felt very lucky today.
