Tulip
A sunny day with a strong wind spent in the garden resetting the outer slabs for the base of the new greenhouse. Thanks to Jon's help it was enjoyable day and should now be level. The downside is that ageing body knows that it has done a day's physical work.
These tulips in a pot in our garden have opened their trumpets wide in the sun and look magnificent.
I have just finished reading the 'The Shadow King" by Maaza Mengiste. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2020 and is an amazing book and well-worth reading. It is about the experience of women in Ethiopia in the 1930's when Mussolini invaded their country and their role in fighting for their country. One of the main characters in the Italian army is a photographer and one of the themes is how photography is used as a weapon of war and, in particular, exploits and abuses women. The issues raised are still relevant today and for all photographers to consider and debate.
