Telegraph pole checker

There are about 500 telegraph pole checkers ... but sadly I’ve forgotten how many telegraph poles he said there are ... anyway, it’s a job that will never end!

The pine ones last about 85 years, but this chap told me he’d checked one last week that was erected in 1895!

Recently we’ve switched to using American pine but it’s not proving to be a satisfactory replacement as poles made from this wood aren’t lasting as long.
