Spot the periwinkle
A grisly damp, grey windy day - the sort that needs the Sunday papers and a blazing fire. I nipped into Durrus for the essential papers and was intrigued to see a poster of an architect's vision pinned to this old grainstore. Probably dating from the late 18C, it's been empty forever but was put up for sale in the summer of 2019. Just before we went to New Zealand last year a sold sign appeared but since then nothing has happened. Now the poster. Being incredibly nosy historically curious I had to stop to have an inspection. A lot of work, money and vision required for it currently is a shell with no roof but it does have these rather nice arched windows. Good to see it, and its teeny adjoining cottage, with a new life.
