Marshy plants
(Really large, does anyone know the name? The spear in the middle looks like plantain).
The day was somewhat windy, and I stayed indoors doing all kinds of cooking. I'd texted a friend earlier to see If she wanted to walk, but there was no reply. eventually she got back and said she could manage 3.30pm.
We weren't planning a long walk, and neither one with many stiles, over which K's small dog, Stella, would have to be lifted, but that's how it turned out!
Down through the Heavens valley and up the woods, past the source of the waterfall, left across field to the Limekilns, across the road, down a drive and through the fields to the Toadsmoor Valley. Along the length of the lake to the garden where we saw these plants; up and up and up through woodlands and across fields and even up some giant's steps in a field, until at last we reached a crossroads. Back towards Stroud, left at the fork, down through the nature reserve/cemetery and home at last! It took us three hours. Neither of us had a step counting app on our phone...
Then I delivered a birthday present of home made biscuits, cooked posh baked chicken nuggets for supper, watched an incomprehensible drama (Keeping Faith) and fell asleep after the news.
That was my day, made memorable by the walk in pastures completely new, complete with gambolling lambs. How was yours?
