Crossing the Ford
I went for another walk with G today at Bayfield and on the way back we spotted that these two horses were about to cross the ford, very carefully they went to the side to avoid the vehicle tracks / holes. It was so nice to see. Although the day started off sunny, it was very windy and as a result a bit chilly. I've added an extra of the Bayfield estate, a robin, some daffodils and a toad heading for the river.
Day 376 / Day 81 of Lockdown 3 / Day 20 of Step 1 of Roadmap out of Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 58 to 126,573 (revised basis), with 4,715 new cases, 4,560 patients in hospital, 615 on ventilation and 363 new admissions. 29.7m have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 3.3m have had their second dose. Regarding the expected third wave of the virus within 3 weeks, Boris says that 'the question we don't really know the answer to' is 'is it going to be this time, as bad as it has been in the past? Or have we sufficiently mitigated, muffled, blunted impact by the vaccine rollout?' The Vaccines Minister has said that the over 70s, care workers and the clinically extremely vulnerable (top 4 groups) would get booster shots to protect against variance starting in Sept. The 'stay local' measures in Wales were lifted today and also 6 people from 2 households can meet and exercise outdoors and self contained holiday accommodation re-opens. Germany has tightened border controls due to the 3rd wave.
