NEW VASE

A few days ago I saw this pretty vase on Ebay so put my bid in... and I won it.  It came this morning so of course I had to blip it for Flower Friday.  The flowers are the ones I got for Mothers Day - still looking fresh. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

The vase was made by the Maling factory and dates from around 1935..  This.local pottery was founded in Sunderland in 1762 and transferred to Newcastle  in 1817. This particular vase was sold by the Ringtons tea company via their doorstep deliveries.. Ringtons sold Maling pottery for over 40 years.  This tea company was established in 1907 and tea was sold door-to-door by horse and cart. Its still a family business and still delivering direct to the customer - as well as online.

The day after I won this vase  I saw another vase on Ebay with the same pansy and viola pattern - this one  had a pierced lid to fit flowers into the top.  I decided to try and win that one too.  And I did.  I'm waiting for it to arrive. Of course I don't need any more vases.  But I love Maling pottery and both pieces were very reasonably priced.  And its good to buy something that makes you happy now and again.

Nothing much to report today.  I did go out for a walk to the Co-op.  I went late in the day and it was very quiet.

Another bliipmeet Facebook memory appeared today.  This one happened on 26th March 2016 in Hexham.  It was a great blipmeet with 13 blippers - and one dog. I have added a group shot in my Extras. The blippers include ~walkingmarj, Flashcube, robindown, Daver64, davidc, Shaaamie and Shygirl73.
