Spring at St. Andrews

Had been asked to do the reading at communion this morning so I had to get up early in order to get my bath after the days work yesterday! The Thursday morning communion is a beautiful simple old fashioned service suitably distanced and only a wafer but there is organ music as well. After the service I walked around the back of church on the way to the Barbican and saw the beautiful magnolia above the daffodils .

Then on he spur of the moment I decided I would try and see my friend Wally in his mock Art Deco establishment. He has a beautiful flat out the third floor and I yelled up at his window! Being a true gentleman he descended to open the gate so that I could visit the home. It was so lovely to see him after such a long time. I haven’t had my hair cut since first lockdown as Wally had said he would like to see me with hair before he was 90! He didn’t get to see it today as I have to put it up at work now after the CQC visit a week last Monday. I bought four hygge bands and my hair is now strictly confined below the bands like a nun. Only problem is that it completely flattens the hair so then it has to be carried on the following day. What a long rant that was.

My gripe of the day was the non arrival of the landlords agent at 17.00 this evening when he had sent an email to say that he would be there with his agent and builder to examine my leaking hallway and the leaking house roof to see what action needed to be taken. There was no alternative offer so I assumed he would turn up and consequently got my architect friend to come and and my builder to let them in to the flat with the leak. It was bitterly disappointing that they didn’t turn up and wasted my friends time and there was no phone call to say they couldn’t come! It will happen some day soon I hope! Sleep well all!
