During one of our recent morning coffees we talked about South Edinburgh sights. The Nether Liberton Doocot was mentioned which I wasn't aware of even though I live close by. Today I grabbed boy #2 to check out the rather large doocot. According to local information it's from the early 16th century and had space for over 2000 pigeons. I always wondered why there are so many doocots about. Apparently it was considered bad luck to demolish them. So they are still about.
